chinesecheckers.plyyard.com is maintained by Ply Yard and provides complete Chinese Checkers games on a star-shaped board. Rules enforcement, board controls, and review tools are all available on the same page; no account or native app is required.
What each of the three ways to play is for
- Play against AI: Choose Red or Blue and practice at one of four locally computed difficulty levels, using hints, undo, and move-by-move replay to compare possible hop chains.
- Two players on one device: Two players share a device for rules instruction, face-to-face play, or discussion of variations from the same position.
- Online rooms: Create a public or private room, choose a side, then invite an opponent with a link or room code. You can also join a public room or watch a game already in progress.
See Chinese Checkers Rules for the rules and Chinese Checkers Strategy for practice advice.
The boundary between local games and online rooms
AI and same-device games are stored in the current browser, including the position, move history, and a small number of interface settings. They do not need the room server. You can usually continue after refreshing, but clearing site data removes local progress.
For online rooms, the server temporarily stores room state and synchronizes moves, while the browser stores the room identifiers needed to reconnect to a seat. These identifiers let you return to your original seat; they are not a user account. See the Privacy Policy for the specific data involved and how it is cleared.
Clear limits on what the site provides
- There are no ranks, rating tables, social accounts, or skill-based automatic matchmaking.
- The public lobby allows visitors to join available rooms, but it is not an automated matchmaking service.
- AI moves and hints come from local search and are not professional coaching or an official strength assessment.
- Ordinary play does not require an email address, phone number, legal name, or payment information.
This site implements Chinese Checkers on a star-shaped board, not 8×8 English draughts or tic-tac-toe. If the page instructions and the legal moves accepted by the board diverge, the program or rules documentation should be corrected; the difference is not an alternate ruleset.
How we decide whether a feature is worth keeping
Every feature must directly help players finish a game or understand a move. Board cues identify open holes that a marble can step or hop into, the move record lets players return to a branching point, and room status confirms seats and connectivity. The site is not designed to accumulate menus; accurate rules, clear feedback, and one consistent legal-move system across modes matter more than the apparent number of features.
About Ply Yard
This site is maintained by Ply Yard. Reports are handled specifically against this site's board, rules, and room implementation. If an illegal move is accepted, a legal move is rejected, the move record falls out of sync with the board, or room reconnection fails, please contact us with steps that reproduce the issue.
